Anzac Day services will be held across Macarthur this Saturday, April 25.

The City of Campbelltown RSL Sub Branch will hold a 5.30am dawn service at Mawson Park. It will be followed by the 8.30am main march on Queen Street to Mawson Park, where a second service will be held around 9am.

The Ingleburn RSL Sub Branch services will include a 4.45am parade from Warbler Avenue to Memorial Park and a 5am dawn service at Ingleburn RSL Memorial Garden.

The Camden RSL Sub-Branch’s Anzac Day commemoration will feature the traditional dawn service at 5.10am, followed by a march and a commemoration service, all held at the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park memorial site on Cawdor Road in Camden.

“Anzac Day holds a special place in the hearts of Australians,’’ says Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli.

“It’s a time to reflect, to remember and to say thank you to the men and women who have served and continue to serve, our country with courage and dedication.

“As a community, we are proud to stand together on Anzac Day to honour the sacrifice of our servicemen and women, and to recognise the strength and resilience that defines the Anzac spirit.

“Whether you plan to attend this dawn service, march or you will simply have a quiet moment of reflection, every act of remembrance helps keep the Anzac legacy alive.

 “Lest we forget.”

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in both Australia and New Zealand. It commemorates the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who landed at Gallipoli in 1915 during World War I.

The day honours the courage, endurance and sacrifice of all service personnel in all conflicts.
