The Camden International Women’s Day gala evening is one of the most popular evenings in the area.

Mayor Ashleigh Cagney says the annual Camden International Women’s Day gala brings the community together to celebrate the vital contributions of women.

Speaking ahead of this year’s event on March 6 at the historic Gledswood Homestead, Cr Cagney said the gala was a highlight of council’s calendar.

“International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the achievements of women in all aspects of life, from the workplace to the home, and in the community,” she said.

“This year’s theme, Accelerate Action, reminds us that it’s time to turn promises into progress.

“Together, we can break barriers, celebrate achievements, and create a future where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.

“Our Camden community is full of inspiring women who make a real difference every day.

“I’m proud to work alongside incredible female leaders, both on council and within our organisation, as we champion equality and strive to create a more inclusive world.

“This year’s gala promises to be an inspiring and empowering evening, and I encourage everyone to secure their tickets early to avoid missing out.”

This year’s keynote speaker is journalist, television presenter and columnist Edwina Bartholomew.

Known for her work on Sunrise and her adventurous spirit – skydiving, bungee jumping, and abseiling live on television, Ms Bartholomew has travelled the globe covering major events and interviewing some of the world’s most notable figures.

She will share stories from her extraordinary career and personal journey, offering insights on resilience, leadership, and making a difference.

The evening will also include a mayoral address and the presentation of the Camden woman of the year award.

Sponsors include Macarthur BMW, Momenta Books, McDonald’s in Macarthur, Camden Golf Club, Fox & Co Finance, IP Technologies, Print Sign & Design Hub, Politech Air Conditioning Services, and Start Fresh Accounting.

Proceeds from the evening will go towards a local charity, soon to be announced. For more information and to book your tickets, visit www.camden.nsw.gov.au/whats-on/annualsignature-events/international-womens-day-gala.
