Edmondson Park has been named Sydney “train station of the month’’ for November.

The winning station is selected each month by Sydney Trains based on a range of measures including customer feedback, cleanliness, community outreach and mystery shopper results.

Holsworthy MP and local member Melanie Gibbons praised the staff at Edmondson Park for winning the coveted award.

“Edmondson Park is very much a rookie station, only opening earlier this year,” Ms Gibbons said.

“Staff are already making a good impression on customers as can be seen from the positive feedback that’s been received.

“The staff take great pride in the station’s appearance and work diligently to keep it clean,” Ms Gibbons said.

“It’s great to see that Edmondson Park Station is leading the way and helping local public transport customers go about their journey more easily,” Ms Gibbons said.

The integration of the South West Rail Link into the T2 South Line means even more improvements for customers using Edmondson Park and Leppington Stations, the MP said.

“Customers now have direct services to the city and twice as many services in the peak period, with a train every 15 minutes,” Ms Gibbons said.

Customer feedback is one of the main criteria that helps decide the Station of the Month.

Customers who think staff at their local station go the extra mile and deserve recognition can let Sydney Trains know by calling the Transport Info Line on 131 500 or by visiting the Sydney trains website.
