Campbelltown’s Labor MP Greg Warren has hosted an official reception at Parliament House for dozens of members of the Macarthur region’s Filipino community.
The function was co-hosted by the Member for Macquarie Fields Anoulack Chanthivong, and was also attended by the Philippine Consul General to Sydney, Anne Jalando-on Louis.
During the ceremony Mr Warren presented congratulatory certificates to elected officials from the Filipino Women’s Support Group of Macarthur and the Sedgwick Housing Co-Operative.
The ceremony also included a number of cultural performances and displays of traditional Filipino culture.
“The Macarthur region is one of the most vibrant, diverse communities in the country,” Mr Warren said.
“I am honoured to host this reception for so many members of our local Filipino community and to recognise the contribution they make to the city of Campbelltown,” the local MP said.
