Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged two men with alleged child grooming offences under Strike Force Trawler, one arrested in Campbelltown.
Strike Force Trawler is an ongoing investigation by State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated through the internet and related telecommunications devices.
On Monday morning, strike force detectives arrested a 69-year-old man in Campbelltown, who allegedly travelled from Port Kembla to meet with a female child.
He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with incitement to commit sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10 years, use a carriage service to groom, fail to comply with reporting obligations and contravene a prohibition order.
The 69-year-old man was refused bail and appeared at Campbelltown Local Court yesterday, where he was further refused bail to appear at the same court on November 11.
The second man, 66, was arrested in Beaumont Hills.

In a separate incident, a driver has been charged after he allegedly crash landed on another car during a pursuit in the early hours of this morning.
About 2am, officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attempted to stop a Mercedes AMG allegedly detected speeding on Hume Highway, Liverpool.
When the driver allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
A short time later, the Mercedes crashed into a roundabout at Bigge Street and Lachlan Street, before it landed on top of a Toyota Camry.
The driver of the Toyota, a 67-year-old woman, was trapped inside the vehicle for some time before being freed by Fire and Rescue NSW crews.
She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for injuries, before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the sedan, a 19-year-old man, was uninjured and subjected to a roadside drug test which allegedly returned a positive result for cocaine. The result has been sent away for further testing.
Charges levelled at him include exceed speed limit by more than 45km/h, not stop during a police pursuit, reckless driving and while being a disqualified driver.
Police will allege in court the man was driving at 120km/h in a signposted 70km/h speed zone.
He was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court today.
