When it comes to emergencies, from bushfires to floods, most ordinary people would love to learn how to be better prepared for them.
Emergency Ready Day was designed for just that: provide practical tips and information to help residents be ready for a range of potential emergencies and better understand how to respond when they occur.
This year’s Emergency Ready Day will be held at Koshigaya Park on Sunday, September 20, from 11am to 2pm.
Campbelltown residents will get a great opportunity to learn more about preparing for emergencies – while connecting with local emergency services.
The free community event will offer a fun and interactive experience for the whole family, with residents able to speak directly with emergency service representatives, take part in hands-on activities and explore emergency trucks, vehicles and equipment up close.
There will also be free lunch, face painting and lucky door prizes to enjoy throughout the day.
“Emergency Ready Day was a valuable opportunity for residents to build their knowledge and confidence when it comes to preparing for unexpected situations,” Mayor of Campbelltown, Darcy Lound, said
“Being prepared can make a real difference during an emergency, and Emergency Ready Day gives our community the chance to hear directly from the experts,” Cr Lound said.
“Residents can ask questions, get practical advice and learn more about the simple steps they can take to prepare themselves, their families and their homes,” he said
“It’s also a great day out for the whole family and a chance to meet the people who work to keep our community safe.”
Emergency Ready Day will feature information stalls and interactive displays from a range of local emergency services, including NSW State Emergency Service (SES), Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS), NSW Police Force and NSW Ambulance.
