The South West Voice is able to give local families an exclusive look at the designs of the new public school and co-located public early learning for East Cobbitty.
The new school, to be located on the corner of Charles McIntosh Parkway and Boardman Road, will include 24 modern classrooms and three support classrooms, a library, school hall and canteen, a games court and playing field.
East Cobbitty public school will open its doors to students on Day 1, Term 1, 2029.
Local families can learn more about the project at a community information session tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1, from 4:30pm to 6:00pm, at Cobbitty Public School.
The East Cobbitty public school is part of 700 new permanent classrooms the Minns Labor Government says it’s delivering in booming South Western Sydney.
It is also removing more than 120 demountables from school playgrounds.
South West Sydney is set to continue growing over the next 15 years, with tens of thousands of homes forecast to be built between now and 2041.
In Camden, this investment in education includes a major upgrade for Spring Farm Public School.
New high schools are currently well under way at Edmonson Park, Gledswood Hills and Leppington.
“Every family building a new home in South West Sydney deserves access to an exceptional public school, close to home, and our investment will ensure this happens,’’ says acting premier and minister for education and early learning Prue Car.
“Under the Liberals and Nationals, new infrastructure for growing communities did not keep pace with population growth, leaving families without local public schools.
“The Minns Labor Government is correcting the mistakes of the past and planning ahead, delivering the new and upgraded schools families need alongside housing, transport infrastructure, and more outdoor space.”
