Local musicians aged 12 to 24 are encouraged to submit their expression of interest and video audition to compete in Campbelltown’s Fisher’s Gig 2026.
The musical contest will return on Saturday, October 31, as part of this year’s Festival of Fisher’s Ghost event.
This year marks the fabulous festival’s 70th anniversary and 200 years since the sighting of Fred Fisher’s ghost near a creek now named after the man himself.
“Fisher’s Gig shines a spotlight on our young musicians in Campbelltown and gives them the opportunity to bring their talents to the stage at our largest local events,” Mayor Darcy Lound said.
“Last year’s Battle of the Bands event was a wonderful showcase of the talented young people in our community, and I look forward to seeing the diverse range of entries submitted this year,” Cr Lound said.
Entries can be submitted across four musical categories, including:
- Heavy Rock /Punk/Alternative
- R&B/Hip Hop
- Pop/Pop Rock
- Acoustic/Solo
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges, with shortlisted performers invited to compete in pre-selection heats on Friday and Saturday, September 4-5.
Top finalists from each category will be selected through audience votes and an official judging panel across both nights to compete at Fisher’s Gig on Saturday, October 31.
Fisher’s Gig category winners will receive cash prizes, additional sponsored prizes and a live performance slot at the New Year’s Eve party in Koshigaya Park on December 31.
Entries can be submitted via Council’s website until Friday, July 10. Visit the website to find out more details and to submit your entry: – https://www.campbelltown.nsw.gov.au/Home
