Wests Group Macarthur have once again joined forces with Big Yellow Umbrella to help local families doing tough get through the cold of winter.
The 2026 Winter Food Appeal was launched at Wests League Club.
Donations of non-perishable pantry items with a minimum six-month shelf life will be accepted at the reception areas of all Wests venues and the Big Yellow Umbrella head office in Narellan until June 30.
They will be converted into family hampers and delivered to needy families across Macarthur as part of Big Yellow Umbrella’s Hamper House Program.
Big Yellow Umbrella is a local not-for-profit organization that has been providing services to the community since 1987.
Their goal is to support strong and empowered communities, where people of all ages and backgrounds can participate in community life, reducing isolation and disadvantage and improving overall quality of life.
The Hamper House Program makes a significant contribution to reaching those goals.
Big Yellow Umbrella has reported a significant increase in demand for food assistance services this year, with a broad range of local people seeking support.
“The cost of living has meant local families cannot afford fresh fruit and vegetables, and we are inundated with requests for support,’’ says Kim Landouw from Big Yellow Umbrella.
