The annual Pacing for Pink campaign has got off to a spectacular start, with the Club Menangle track turning pink in support of the McGrath Foundation.

The third running of Pacing for Pink proved to be the most successful edition to date, with all hospitality packages sold out and a large crowd of racing fans descending on Club Menangle for a thrilling night of harness racing featuring four Group One events.

Throughout the month of May, Club Menangle has committed to donating funds for success at the track across eight race meetings.

This includes $200 for each win recorded by a driver wearing the pink pants, $200 for each win recorded by a female trainer, and $200 for each win recorded by a horse carrying saddlecloth number eight.

The McGrath Foundation donations were launched with driver Ashleigh Delosa – wearing the pink pants – recording back‑to‑back wins in Race 1 with Soho Gunslinger and Race 2 with Colossal Hope.

Further momentum followed with female trainer victories from Amanda Turnbull with Seasider and Emma Stewart with Arrhythmia.

Additional contributions came via saddlecloth number eight wins by Ripp for trainer‑driver Bernie Hewitt and Rockinwithattitude for trainer‑driver David Miles.

“It was a fantastic launch to our annual Pacing for Pink campaign, with so many wins recorded by drivers donning the pink pants, female trainers and horses carrying saddlecloth number eight,’’ said Club Menangle chief executive Bruce Christison.

“This initiative is something that is close to the hearts of many involved with the club, from our board and staff through to participants and the local community, and it is incredibly rewarding to be able to give back and support the vital work of the McGrath Foundation.

“We sincerely thank our race night sponsor Coutts Lawyers and Conveyancers, along with everyone who attended and supported the event,’’ he said.

“Pacing for Pink is now a standalone fixture on our racing calendar, and we look forward to continuing to grow the event even further in 2027.”
