The NSW Government’s local sport grant program funding numbers are not huge, but they make a big difference to local sporting groups.
The program provides grants for minor facility upgrades, new equipment and programs that support and encourage participation in sport and active recreation in NSW.
Grants up to $20,000 are available every round, with a total of $50,000 available in Campbelltown and every state electorate in NSW.
All up, the department of sport allocated $4.49 million this round.
One of the successful applicants in Campbelltown was Southern Districts Tennis Association Inc (also known as Tennis Macarthur), which will spend its $3385 buyingtennis court drying equipment.
“Sport is such a huge part of our Campbelltown community, and it is great to see this support delivered for our local clubs,” says Greg Warren, the Campbelltown MP, who selects the local recipients.
“These grants will help our local clubs buy vital equipment and resources to enable more members of our community to participate in sport,’’ he said.
The other successful recipients were:
Campbelltown Ghosts Baseball Club Inc.$3,350, to be used for the deployment of protective mobile screens on sports fields intended to enhance training opportunities and increase inclusive participation.
- Campbelltown Collegians Junior Rugby League Football Incorporated – $18,000 for an electronic scoreboard.
