The Rams scored early in the second half and were threatening to ruin the APIA party.
But 20 minutes from fulltime the home side scored a second goal, which turned out to be the match winner.
APIA started the match in fine style, forcing the girls from Macarthur to do a lot of defending early.

A deep corner evaded everyone and Maya Lobo reacted quickest, volleying home against her former side to give APIA a deserved 1–0 lead.
Macarthur came out firing in the second half, applying early pressure on the APIA defence.
The goal for the Rams came in a moment of magic in the 58th minute.
Abbie Puckett produced a stunning piece of skill, meeting a deep free kick and, in one fluid motion, back-heel volleying the ball over the goalie and into the net – an audacious strike that will surely be in contention for goal of the season.
The equaliser lifted the visitors, who began to grow in confidence.
Tea Mucenski fired narrowly wide from the edge of the area before Puckett capped off a slick team move, only to be denied by the home side’s goalie.
APIA responded with renewed urgency and with 20 minutes remaining, the decisive moment arrived for the home side.
A slick move between Letta and Kapetanellis saw the latter finish clinically at the near post following a pinpoint cross.

Reigning champions Bulls FC Academy were merciless in their 5-0 disposal of NWS Spirit at Christie Park.
The Bulls led 3-0 at half time and went on with it in the second half.
Their opponents have had a challenging start to the 2026 campaign, and were looking to kick their season into gear against the champions of last season.
But the home side put themselves under pressure early when Shani Cooney-Cross’s attempt to play out from the back led to the Bulls regaining possession in the box, allowing Petria Phillips an easy finish to make it 1-0 in the 14th minute.
Jade Guichon followed up Phillips’ opener with a brace – the first a well-taken one-on-one finish in the 22nd minute, and the second a superb strike from a tight angle just before half-time.
Olivia Vanderlaan’s excellent hold-up play helped create the Bulls’ fourth, with Phillips firing home after receiving the ball just inside the 18-yard box.
A fifth and final goal sealed the 5-0 victory, with Chelsea Harpur finishing after an initial shot was parried by the goalkeeper.
