Lennox Fielding is still only eight years old, but after just one year of competing in go karts the Cobbitty youngster’s got his eyes on the Australian Kart Championship.
This weekend Lennox will line up at C.EX Raceway in Coffs Harbour for round one of the Australian Kart Championship, the most prestigious national karting series.
Lennox will compete in the Cadet 9 class, which features drivers aged seven to nine from across Australia and internationally and is widely recognised as the starting point for many of the country’s future motorsport stars.
The rising racer represents the highly regarded Rush Performance team, one of Australia’s leading karting teams known for developing young talent.
In 2025, Rush Performance produced the Australian Kart Championship winner in the KA 3 Senior class, Christian Estasy, reinforcing its reputation for nurturing national champions.
Lennox enjoyed an outstanding first year in competitive karting in 2025, claiming the NSW state championship and finishing vice champion in the Dunlop Kart Stars Series as well as vice champion at Eastern Creek Kart Raceway.
The strong results have continued into the 2026 season, with Lennox already securing two podium finishes at club rounds in Coffs Harbour and Ipswich.
His mother, Tania Fielding, said Lennox’s focus and dedication on the track continues to impress.
“The dedication and focus Lennox shows at just eight years old is incredible to watch,’’ she said.
“Seeing him make split-second decisions at speeds approaching 95 kilometres per hour takes a level of maturity and composure well beyond his years.
“As a parent, I’m incredibly proud of him no matter where he finishes in the series. What matters most is the training, discipline and mindset he is developing, all the qualities of a future champion.’’
Lennox’s racing journey is supported by several Australian businesses including Roladuct, Midway Metals, Southern Sheet & Coil and Little Luxe Marketing.
Round One of the Australian Kart Championship takes place March 13–15 at C.EX Raceway in Coffs Harbour, attracting competitors from across Australia.
