Most locals know the bit of Fishers Ghost Creek that runs on the northern end of Koshigaya Park, separating the open space and Campbelltown Mall

But the creek associated with the ghost of Fred Fisher, is actually quite a long stretch and dissects most of the suburb of Bradbury.

It runs virtually parallel with The Parkway, the main throughfare through Bradbury, and a wide section is known as Fishers Ghost Creek Reserve.

This reserve is one of Campbelltown’s most diverse wildlife corridors and supports an area of mature endangered Sydney River-Flat Eucalypt Forest, which is home to a variety of wildlife, notably populations of parrot species.

Fishers Ghost Creek Reserve has been earmarked as the focus in Bradbury for the 2026 Clean Up Australia Day this coming Sunday, March 1.

This important working bee will be hosted by the Bradbury Bushcare group from 9.30am to 11.30am, with support from the students and staff of Bradbury preschool.

Campbelltown mayor Darcy Lound is calling on residents to join in the effort to help clean up Fishers Ghost Creek Reserve.

“Roll up your sleeves and join like-minded residents to help clean up Fishers Ghost Creek Reserve, which is not only one of our key urban bushland reserves, but also a home to a variety of wildlife,” he said.

“We all have a role to play in keeping our environment clean, so this event is a great opportunity to team up with friends and family to help remove rubbish from the beautiful Fishers Ghost Creek Reserve,” Cr Lound said.

Anyone planning to attend should ensure they wear enclosed shoes and appropriate sun-safe clothing. Refreshments will be provided on the day.

Volunteers will meet at Fishers Ghost Creek Reserve at the Parkway, opposite Bradbury preschool.
