Glassie Glassie – who scored the opening try for the Australian under 18s on the weekend – is such a proud Campbelltown Harlequins player and the strapping on his wrist makes that very clear.
His selection and performance was just one example of the extraordinary contribution to representative rugby by the Campbelltown Harlequins in 2025 and in recent seasons.
And it all started with the first grade side, says the club’s Andrew Choice.
“With the Harlequin first grade bowing out in the semi finals there was the obvious disappointment, however you cannot escape the fact that Quins were the best team in the competition being beaten only once in the regular season and winning the minor premiership,’’ he says.
“On top of that the ladies were semi finalist in the SRU women’s competition and likewise the Under 18s made the semi in the SRU under 18s competition,’’ says Choice.
“It is worthy of note that many good judges said that they were the only team that would have challenged eventual premiers Randwick.’’
Andrew Choice also points out that Harlequin provided the bulk of the Illawarra under 18s side this season.
Twenty players from the Harlequins under 18s represented Illawarra and the State Championship and Sevens programs.
Five of them, Glassie Glassie, Jaziah Terangi, Kwan Ah-HoeZakkai, Masoe, Sam Scott, went on to represent NSW country.

On top of that Malama Leatigaga will represent NSW Country in the Australian Shield this weekend, with four teammates choosing another route and be selected in the SRU women’s team for the Australian Shield side.
Lea Auta Mailetoa, Mercy Tuutupou Taylor Ropata and Jayda Patrck will all represent Sydney, while Malama will represent NSW Country.
On Saturday, Jackson Ropatta, another Harlequin junior, played for the NSW Waratahs in Super Rugby Australia.
“Sally Fuesaina and Atasi Lafai were selected for the Wallaroos World cup campaign but with major injuries,’’ says Andrew Choice.
“It is quite a contribution a small club in Campbelltown is making to NSW rugby.’’
