Good news: thumbs up from MP Greg Warren, Mayor Darcy Lound and the Fisher’s Ghost mascot.

Thanks to a substantial funding injection, Fisher’s Twilight Fair, one of the highlights of the annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost, will be bigger and better this year – and the two after that.

Campbelltown City Council has revealed this week that it has secured NSW Government grant funding for an expanded Fisher’s Twilight Fair event under the Vibrant Streets Package – Open Streets Program 2025-2028.

It will also a small change to the name of the event.

The grant will contribute $350,000 in funding over the next three years for council to host Fisher’s Twilight Streets as part of the Festival of Fisher’s Ghost events program.

“The Open Streets grant has previously funded large-scale community events, such as Wander On Q, which transformed Campbelltown CBD into an interactive, inclusive and discoverable space,” says Mayor of Campbelltown Darcy Lound.

“With this new round of funding, we can offer an expanded version of our popular Twilight Fair event and find fresh ways to bring the Fisher’s Ghost legend to our city centre and streetscapes through Twilight Streets,” Cr Lound said.

“Thank you to the New South Wales Government for continuing to invest in our community and assisting us in bringing these fantastic local events to life,” he said.

Fisher’s Twilight Streets will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 1-2 during this year’s Festival of Fisher’s Ghost.

The festival will start on October 30 and run until to 9 November.

Council says a refreshed program of council and community-led events will be on offer this year.

In the meantime, council is also reviewing the entire festival, including bringing back the iconic parade, in a bid to secure its future.
