Raid on two Oran Park houses over illicit drug supply

Five people have been charged following an investigation by Strike Force Harlingen into illicit drugs across outer South Western Sydney.

Strike Force Harlingen was established in May by officers attached to Camden Police Area Command.

Last Friday, strike force detectives, with the assistance of the Tactical Operations Unit, Public Order Riot Squad, South West Metropolitan Operational Support Group, Region Enforcement Squad, Dog Squad and the Australian Federal Police Forensic Search and Imagery section, executed search warrants at homes on Phillips Avenue and Evergreen Drive in Oran Park.

During a search of the Phillips Avenue address, police located and seized 56g of cocaine, $2500 cash, a rifle, a loaded revolver, ammunition and mobile devices.

Two men, aged 36 and 44, were arrested at the premises.

During a search of the Evergreen Drive address, police located and seized a small quantity of cocaine and a mobile phone. A 41-year-old man was arrested at that location.

At 7am, a 25-year-old man was arrested during a vehicle stop along Sir Warwick Fairfax Drive, Harrington Park, whilst a 28-year-old woman was arrested at a home on Kentwood Place, Narellan Vale.

All five people were taken to Narellan Police Station.

The 36-year-old man was charged with 13 offences, including directing the activities of a criminal group and deal with proceeds of crime.

 The 44-year-old man was charged with two counts of supplying a prohibited drug and participate in a criminal group.

The 25-year-old man, 41-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were all charged with participating in a criminal group as well as supplying a prohibited drug.

All were refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court last Saturday.

In other police news, a man has died following a crash in Minto on Saturday evening.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Pembroke Road and Durham Street, Minto, following reports of a crash just before 9pm.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and found an SUV and a trailbike had collided.

Officers rendered first aid to the rider, a 20-year-old man, before being treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, died he at the scene.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and investigations commenced into the circumstances of the crash.

Pembroke Road was closed in both directions immediately after the incident and motorists were urged to avoid the area.
