
Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics will address the media after a nine year old girl was hit by a dirt bike at a park in Rosemeadow yesterday.
Detective Superintendent Grant Healey, Campbelltown City Police Area Commander, and Abbey Gillam, NSW Ambulance station manager will appeal to the public to help them find the dirt bike rider responsible for the sickening incident.
Police have already issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.
About 5.45pm yesterday (Thursday, July 10) emergency services were called to a park on Copperfield Drive, Rosemeadow, after reports a child was struck by a dirt bike.
Police were told a rider of a dirt bike was travelling across the sporting field, when the girl was struck.
Police say the bike rode over her head and chest and the rider failed to stop, riding away from the scene.
Witnesses went to the aid of the girl who was treated for facial injuries at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before she was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.
Officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
Investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
