A man has been charged with a raft of offences after he was arrested two hours after police served a search warrant in Ambarvale yesterday.
Detectives attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended a home on Dickens Road, Ambarvale, about 3pm yesterday (Sunday, November 3), for the execution of a search warrant.
A police operation was initiated with the assistance of Highway Patrol, Dog Unit, Operations Support Group, and the Tactical Operations Unit.
About 4.50pm, a 25-year-old man was seen jumping several neighbouring fences and a search commenced to locate the man.
He was arrested a short time later and was taken to Campbelltown Police Station.
During a search of the property police seized a stolen Kawasaki motorcycle.
The man was charged with five outstanding warrants which included the following offences:
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period (two counts);
- Drive conveyance taken without consent of owner (two counts);
- Dishonestly obtain property by deception;
- Use class A vehicle displaying altered number plate;
- Dishonestly obtain property by deception;
- Affray;
- Drive vehicle while illicit drug was present in his blood;
- Aggravated break and enter in company, steal.
He was refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court today.
Police say that a man who was filming the operation was allegedly assaulted by a 36-year-old resident of Dickens Road, Ambarvale.
As a result, the man was issued a court attendance notice for common assault, to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on November 21.
