The Campbelltown community has once again demonstrated its generous spirit after helping to raise $41,677 at the 2024 Mayor’s charity gala dinner.
The money will support a new youth-focused program from Humanity Matters.
More than 200 people attended the Vegas-themed evening hosted by Mayor George Greiss at Ottimo House on Saturday, March 2.
Funds raised from the event will support the new Humanity Matters program called Feet on the Street.
New arts and sports programs will be created for highly marginalised young people in Campbelltown.
The programs will connect participants with specialist youth workers from Humanity Matters.
“As Campbelltown continues to grow and move forward, it’s important that we think about the young people who are the future of our city,’’ says Mayor Greiss.
“There are more than 34,000 people aged between 10 and 25 who live in Campbelltown, almost 20 percent of our population.
“Humanity Matters do a great job connecting with young people who may be struggling with their mental health or who are disconnected from the mainstream, and giving them opportunities and pathways into education, employment and other services,” he said.
“I would like to thank all our sponsors and all those who attended the evening and contributed their money to support this fantastic cause.
“Your generosity will make a real difference in the lives of young people in Campbelltown,” Mayor Greiss said.
The Mayor’s charity gala dinner was supported by Gold sponsors Campbelltown Mall and Menangle Park by Dahua Group. Silver sponsors included Cameron Brae Group, Marsdens Law Group and Saxon Developments.
