Twenty residents and two local sporting clubs were recognised for their long-standing contributions to the area at the 2023 Campbelltown City Jubilee Awards.
The awards celebrate people who have lived in Campbelltown for 50 years or more, and for 30 years or more for members of our Indigenous community.
Among the 2023 recipients were two residents who have been part of the Campbelltown community for more than 70 and 80 years respectively.
“This year’s award recipients accounted for a combined 1192 years as part of the Campbelltown community,” Mayor George Greiss said.
“These awards acknowledge those people and community organisations who have shown a commitment to Campbelltown throughout their lives and who have been an integral part of the local community,” Dr Greiss said.
“I’d like to offer my congratulations and thanks to each of these amazing Jubilee Award recipients,” he said.
Federal Member for Werriwa MP Anne Stanley and State Member for Leppington Nathan Hagarty attended the presentation ceremony this morning.
This year’s Jubilee Award recipients included the Campbelltown Collegians Football Club and Campbelltown Harlequins Football Club, both for 50 years of serving the community.
Individual awards went to Rhonda Sampson (41 years), Dorothy Dover (50), Judith and Michael Trimboli (50), Jennifer and Phillip Watt (50), Janice and Paul Neaves (51).
Meg Oates, who has served on Campbelltown Council as a Labor councillor for more than 30 years, also received recognition for her 51 years as part of the Campbelltown community.
