Grants and funding finder hits the spot, says Hagarty

Having business savings, rebates and budget relief from 46 separate NSW government websites in one place online is a great idea, says Nathan Hagarty, the state member for Leppington.

The Grants and Funding Finder makes it easier for business owners to navigate a range of financial help available from the NSW Government.

The finder also makes support more accessible for 2.15 million people – or one in four NSW residents – who speak a language other than English at home, with all content on nsw.gov.au translated into multiple languages.

Navigating the digital tool allows easy access to tailored support options from disaster recovery grants available in specific suburbs, to cost of living measures like toll relief or the family energy rebate.

Mr Hagarty says he applauds the program’s convenience, in particular the addition of multiple languages to the portal.

“This is a great addition to the website which will see thousands of businesses better off,” he said.

“I also applaud the decision to add more languages to the portal. As we saw during the pandemic there is a significant digital divide for those in CALD communities, especially in Western and South Western Sydney.

“This initiative will make life easier for CALD businesses who are sometimes not aware of opportunities the government provides due to language and technological barriers.

“The convenience this change provides will no doubt provide a much-needed awareness of services provided by the state, and more importantly provide support to businesses that need it,” Mr Hagarty said.

The finder is part of a broader project to make it easier for people and businesses to find information, complete tasks and provide feedback through a single location at nsw.gov.au.

It has been developed by the Department of Customer Service in partnership with the Department of Regional NSW and Service NSW.
