A mural has added more than a splash of colour to the Ingleburn central business district.
The mural was installed as part of Campbelltown City Council’s street appeal shop front improvement grant program.
Created by renowned local artist Luke TEKN, the mural is located in a prominent location on the corner of Macquarie and Oxford Roads.
It features the elements of fire, air, earth and water, representing the balance in Ingleburn’s ongoing growth and development.
The mural was funded through the council grant program and Percival Management, with support from Rain & Horne Real Estate and the Ingleburn Chamber of Commerce.
“Public art helps to build pride in our spaces and lifts the visual appeal of the local streetscape,” says Mayor George Greiss.
“Our recent public art projects across Campbelltown have seen an incredibly positive reaction from people who use these spaces, so I’m excited to see this latest project in Ingleburn now complete,” says Cr Greiss, himself an Ingleburn resident.
“Combined with the recent works completed to local shopfronts as part of street appeal and the recently completed streetscape works on Oxford Road, this is an exciting time for the Ingleburn CBD and I look forward to seeing similar projects happening in the future,” he said.
The street appeal grant program provided 37 business across the Campbelltown and Ingleburn CBDs with funding to help improve the visual appeal of their shop fronts.
Almost $70,000 worth of grant funding has resulted in more than $225,000 worth of improvement projects across both locations.
