Motorbike rider dead after crashing into fence at Bradbury

A critical incident investigation is under way into the death of a man involved in a police pursuit near Campbelltown.

Just after 1.15pm yesterday (Tuesday, December 14) officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command were conducting proactive patrols at St Johns Road, Bradbury, when they attempted to stop a Suzuki motorcycle.

The rider allegedly failed to stop as directed and a pursuit was initiated.

A short time later police lost sight of the Suzuki, before it was located crashed into a fence at the intersection of Jacaranda and Cedar Avenue, Bradbury.

The rider, a 48-year-old man, was arrested at the scene.

While speaking with police, the man lost consciousness and police officers commenced CPR; however, despite their efforts, he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and a critical incident team from Camden Police Area Command will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident.

That investigation will be subject to an independent review.
