Macarthur FC haven’t taken long to land a replacement goalkeeper following the retirement of Adam Federici last week.

The Bulls today confirmed Filip Kurto will join the club for the upcoming 2021-22 A-League season.

The 6-foot-3 shot-stopper who was born in Poland, links with Macarthur FC following previous stints at Western United and Wellington Phoenix. He has featured in 60 A-League matches.

He was named goalkeeper of the year at the 2018-19 Dolan Warren Awards after a breakaway debut season with the Phoenix.

Having spent most of his professional career in the Netherlands, Kurto’s European experience will enhance the defensive unit the Bulls have built over the last few months.

Macarthur FC head coach Ante Milicic says he is looking forward to having the shot-stopper join the Bulls.

“Filip will bring his invaluable European and A-League knowledge and experience to our squad,’’ he said.

“Alongside Nick Suman, he will give us tremendous security in the goalkeeping department.

“He has been outstanding in his A-League journey so far and I look forward to watching what he can bring under the guidance of myself and Glen Moss for the upcoming season.’’

Kurto, 30, who will play for his first Sydney A-League club, is looking forward to his new challenge at Campbelltown.

“I am really excited to be joining Macarthur FC and make the move to Sydney,’’ he said.

“I think the club has done a tremendous job on recruitment for the upcoming season and I look forward to joining my teammates.

“It’s always a challenge moving to a new city, but I believe it will be an exciting one for both myself and my family.’’
