The furry friends of Camden residents have a new place to play – an off-leash dog park has just opened in Emerald Hills.
The new dog park, located on Emerald Hills Drive, includes two separate sections for large and small dogs designed for off-leash play.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, pictured above near the new park, said the $250,000 facility was a welcome addition to the community of Emerald Hills.
“Providing new and improving existing facilities is important for council to continue servicing the community of Camden,” Cr Fedeli said.
“Regular off-leash exercises help dogs relieve boredom while also releasing energy and also reducing unwanted behaviour such as excessive barking.
“Walking your dog to the park can also give owners many benefits including some exercise for themselves and meeting other people in our beautiful area.
“It is important to remind residents to keep their dogs on-lead when approaching the dog park and to keep an eye on their pet while using the facility.”
The dog park was constructed by Macarthur Developments, under the Emerald Hills voluntary planning agreement.
