Camden Youth Council plays an important role in helping to develop initiatives and projects for young people living in the area.
The council gives young people aged between 12 and 25 the chance to have their voices heard.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the views of young people were important for council.
“Camden is a growing area with so many people of different ages and background and we want to make sure young people can also have their say,” Cr Fedeli said.
“Our Youth Council gives our young people a fantastic opportunity to both represent the youth of the area while being heard, getting involved in youth projects, initiatives and events.
“This year will give the Youth Council a chance to also advise on programs and activities that are set to occur at the fantastic Julia Reserve Youth Precinct.”
Camden Youth Council also runs events for local young people through the year including $5 Youth Movie Nights and assisting in Camden Youth Week.

Senior residents can learn how to use the latest technology from the comfort of their own homes via the Camden Libraries’ trial Tech Savvy Seniors online program.
Camden Libraries recently promoted the Tech Savvy Seniors YouTube channel, showcasing videos introducing seniors to smartphones, zoom video calls and much more in a variety of languages.
“Computers, tablets and smart phones have helped make day to day errands, such as paying a bill or doing your banking so much easier,” says Cr Fedeli.
“Technology has been even more important during the Covid-19 pandemic, with many families staying in touch with each other via video calls.
“For those who are just beginning to access online resources, Camden Libraries also provides over the phone assistance. This is about helping our seniors as much as possible and our team is here to help.”
