Two men, one armed with a machete and the other with a hand saw, robbed a service station near Campbelltown overnight.
They fled on foot after threatening an employee of the service station on Ballantrae Drive, St Andrews and grabbing an amount of cash.
The service station attendant was shaken though not injured during the incident.
Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced a search of the area.
As inquiries continue, police have released descriptions of the two men.
The first is described as having a dark complexion, wearing a black jumper with light blue stripes, a black T-shirt covering his face, black shorts and white runners. He was armed with a hand saw.
The second man is described as having a dark complexion, wearing a black jumper, dark long pants, a dark T-shirt covering his face, a black baseball cap and dark coloured shoes. He was armed with a machete.
Police are appealing to anyone who might have been in the area of Ballantrae Drive, St Andrews and has dash-cam footage of two men running from the service station, to contact Campbelltown Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

About 9.30pm on Thursday, officers from Camden Police Area Command stopped a Mazda 323 on Narellan Road, Currans Hill, for a random breath test as part of Operation Saber IV.
The driver, a 29-year-old woman, returned a negative result.
Following a search of the vehicle, police seized a folding knife, 59 grams of cocaine, two mobile phones and $1000 cash.
The St Marys woman was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station where she was charged with custody of knife in public place. She was granted conditional bail to appear before Picton Local Court on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.
