South West Sydney councils are ramping up online information for local business doing it tough as lock down laws take their toll.
At Camden residents are being encouraged to support local businesses by joining a new social media campaign.
Championed by Camden Council and Camden Region Economic Taskforce (CRET), the #camdenbought campaign asks residents to take photos of the products they have purchased from local businesses and post them on social media.
Local businesses also have a new platform to promote their business and offers during the Covid-19 pandemic on the Camden Council website.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the campaign was one way of supporting local businesses which have been hit hard by Covid-19.
“Local businesses are the bedrock of our community and this is a way for the entire community to jump on board and support each other,” Cr Fedeli said.
“Council’s new webpage highlights the fantastic work our local businesses continue do for the community.
“Social media can be used in a positive way like the #camdenbought campaign, so I encourage you to buy local and flaunt it by posting it on social media.”
Businesses can list their offers on the newly designed directory page on Camden Council’s website by filling out the form at camden.nsw.gov.au
