For many people, the first time they collide with a game of golf is at a charity fundraiser. And you know what? It’s not a bad way to get acquainted with the ancient game some wits describe as “a good walk wasted’’.
Charity golf days just tick a couple more boxes compared to just you and three mates playing 18 holes on a Sunday morning.
The first is that you are helping to raise money for some of our great charities, and after all charity begins at home, right?
Secondly, there’s the wonderful opportunity for business to business networking in a very relaxed atmosphere.
But wait, there’s more.
There’s the golf of course, and even at charity days everyone is super competitive.
Bottom line, charity golf days are a fun way to finish the week – or start the weekend when they’re on Fridays, and most are.
Did someone mention charity golf days, because they are about to get under way here in the great South West.
First cab off the rank in 2020 is Disability Macarthur with their golf day scheduled for Friday, March 6 at Campbelltown Golf Course.
To take part in this great charity’s sixth golf day contact Ashley on 9603 7011 or email a.tichonczuk@diabilitymacarthur.org.au.
Just two weeks later, on Friday, March 20, the Youth Solutions 2020 golf day will tee off at Campbelltown Golf Course.
The day goes from noon to 4.30pm and includes lunch, followed by nine holes of golf, and hot food platters afterwards.
“Whether you are a first time golfer or seasoned pro, we invite you to join us,” says Youth Solutions CEO Geraldine Dean.
“Get the work crew together, gather your mates and book your place for an afternoon not to be missed.”
