Local Member Melanie Gibbons and Minister for Police and Emergency Services Stuart Ayres MP today visited Liverpool Police Station to inspect major renovations which began in December and will be completed in 2016.
“This station is set to receive a $22.9 million rebuild, and today we are getting a first glimpse of that exciting work,” Ms Gibbons said after the visit.
“This will be one of the largest single developments of a police station undertaken by the NSW Police Force to date.
“It will accommodate 210 personnel over threestories, and provide facilities for general duties officers, Highway Patrol, the Crime Management Unit and the Anti-Theft Team, among others.
“Our police deserve state-of-the art facilities, and that is what they are going to get here at Liverpool Police Station,” Ms Gibbons said.
Minister Ayres said that the rebuilt Police Station will be a great asset to the Liverpool Local Area Command, which patrols large parts of the Holsworthy electorate.
“The Baird Government places great importance on providing our police officers with the resources and technology they need. This police station will be an excellent example of that commitment,” Mr Ayres said.
