Money for community building: Break the Cycle at Glenquarie received $27,740 in funding through the Community Building Partnership 2017 program, which has gone towards funding much-needed equipment for the men’s shed, as well as new awnings and footpaths.

State Member for Macquarie Fields Anoulack Chanthivong MP has announced that applications are now open for the 2018 Community Building Partnership Program, unlocking $30 million for community infrastructure projects across NSW.

Mr Chanthivong said $330,000 is available for projects in each NSW electorate, including Macquarie Fields.

He is urging local councils and not-for-profit groups in his electorate to apply for the funds they need to deliver projects with social, environmental and recreational outcomes.

“Local sports clubs, charities, men’s sheds and Scouts or Girl Guides are just some of the groups the benefit from this program,” Mr Chanthivong said.

“If your organisation or club needs extra funding for the building, refurbishment or enhancement of facilities, then I’d strongly encourage you to apply.”

The Community Building Partnership program has awarded $275 million in funding to 12,000 community projects since it commenced in 2009.

“Take the time to prepare and submit your application so you don’t miss out.”

Applications are open from next Monday [May 7] and close at 5pm on Friday, June 15, 2018.

Applicants must read the program guidelines to ensure their club or organisation and proposed project are eligible.
