Whether your talent is for perfecting beautiful blooms, creating tranquility on the terrace, nurturing natives or beautifying your balcony, there’s still time to pull on the gardening gloves and enter the 2017 Campbelltown City garden competition.
Local green thumbs have until Monday, September 4 to enter their patch of paradise in the popular competition.
If they do they will be in with a chance to share in almost $5000 in prize money.
Judging will take place on September 12-13, when flowering gardens will be in full bloom.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, encouraged green thumbs across the city to share their beautiful, colourful and creative gardens through the competition, and help foster a sense of community pride.
“The competition attracts some outstanding entries each year, reflecting the hard work, dedication and creativity of our local gardeners, and with 12 categories to choose from, gardens of various styles and sizes are in with a good chance to take out a prize,” he said.
Categories include best new garden, most unusual garden, best sustainable garden, best native garden, best small/medium garden, best large garden, best senior citizen garden, best backyard, best edible garden, best commercial/industrial garden and best educational garden.
There is also the Anne Haddock best cottage garden category, established in memory of one of the competition’s most successful past entrants.
The competition is open to all Campbelltown local government area residents, schools and businesses.

Completed entry forms can be emailed to events@campbelltown.nsw.gov.au, posted to PO Box 57, Campbelltown NSW 2560 or hand delivered to the civic centre.
