Parts of Eagle Vale Central will be temporarily closed during the winter months as Campbelltown City Council undertakes renovations and maintenance work to the swimming pools, gym and outdoor area.
The swimming pools and outdoor grassed area will be closed to the public until Friday, September 8.
And from Monday, August 28 to Friday, September 8, the crèche and fitness area will also be closed.
The library, café and reception areas will not be affected by the closure.
A family fun day will be held on Saturday, September 9 to celebrate the reopening.
It will also be an opportunity for local community to tour and use the facilities available at the new-look centre, and enjoy a host of free activities.
Upgrade works will include resurfacing the pools and renovation of pool change rooms, a refit of the accessible change room, the installation of a new accessible pool hoist, and a revitalised outdoor area with landscaping and new fitness equipment.
Deputy mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Meg Oates, said she was pleased Eagle Vale Central was getting a spruce up, not only improving the look and feel of the centre, but providing new fitness facilities.
[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]“Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Eagle Vale Central’s pool, gym and outdoor area, but we look forward to opening a revitalised and more modern and welcoming leisure facility,” Cr Oates said.[/social_quote]
“I encourage the community to come along on Saturday, September 9, and see the improvements for themselves while enjoying the free, family friendly activities on offer.”
