Macarthur Night Markets are almost here.
They will give local foodies and families the opportunity to enjoy the taste and aromas of a variety of foods as well as live entertainment.
Starting from this Friday, June 2, the markets will be set under twinkling lights at Mawson Park, right in the heart of Campbelltown’s CBD.
The Friday Foodies Feast will feature up to 40 food stalls and provide a family friendly street fair atmosphere on the first and third Friday of each month from 5pm to 9pm.
Campbelltown City Council is partnering with market provider Eat Shop Love to deliver a genuine foodie experience, bringing the community together and supporting the night economy of the Campbelltown CBD.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said the night markets would give locals the opportunity to enjoy an increasingly popular, street food pop-up event, without having to travel long distances.
“The bi-monthly events will provide a new and innovative culinary experience, bringing people together to enjoy a variety of foods and live entertainment in the heart of the Campbelltown CBD,” he said.
“It will also be a great opportunity for local businesses to raise their profile, and showcase their culinary fare to a wider audience, all while contributing to reinvigorating and rejuvenating the town centre.”
The pilot Macarthur Night Markets project will run until December 15 this year.
A decision on permanent night markets will be made by council after December 15.
Mawson Park is on the corner of Queen and Cordeaux Streets, Campbelltown, and is only a short walk from the Broughton Street or Short Street public car parks.
