The Paramor Prize: Art + Innovation was launched last year in memory of Wendy Paramor, one of Australia’s most loved and celebrated modern female artists.
It’s back again in 2016 for the second year in a row.
Paramor exemplified the artistic creativity of the region through her innovative forward-thinking arts practice. A large collection of her works were bequeathed to Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (CPAC) and the Liverpool City Art, Heritage and Local Studies Collection.
The Paramor Prize provides a chance to develop new solutions as well as creative explorations of current challenges and opportunities in the rapidly growing South West Sydney region.
The Paramor Prize is an acquisitive prize of $20,000.
A shortlisted selection of finalists will be exhibited at CPAC.
Winners will be selected by a panel of guest judges.
A $5,000 Mayoral Award will be issued to the artwork that best conveys the guiding principles of Liverpool City Council.
A $1,000 People’s Choice Award will be issued to the artwork voted most popular among audiences.
Artwork submissions should address ideas about innovation and visions for our future In South West Sydney.
The union of contemporary art and innovation in creative practice has the potential to generate new knowledge, ideas and processes.
The Paramor Prize encourages new ways of seeing, experiencing and interpreting the world around us.
