The online tourism campaign launched by Campbelltown and Camden Councils makes it much easier for local residents to explore the backyard of their own region.
A dedicated website for the campaign at macarthurgrapevine.com.au features discovery trails, an interactive trail map, celebrity ambassadors, what’s on calendar, gift store and promotional videos.
The website will also include special offers and competitions throughout the year.
From tasty treats to daring adventures, the Macarthur Grapevine connects some of the most exciting parts of the region, and maps them together for everyone to explore.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said the project was developed to inspire residents to explore the Macarthur region and foster a sense of pride in home grown experiences and enterprises.

“There are a multitude of places to visit and adventures to experience right here in our own backyard, and we hope the website motivates residents to discover all that is on offer, with the fascination of a tourist and the ease of being a local.
“Explore some of Macarthur’s best dining venues on the foodie trail, and enjoy delicious food in some of the most stunning scenic locations.
“Or discover magnificent natural areas and beautiful bushwalks – they’re just some of the amazing experiences that can be organised using the Macarthur Grapevine,” Cr Hawker said.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Lara Symkowiak, said the Macarthur Grapevine initiative highlighted the amazing experiences and attractions on offer in Macarthur and invited local residents to uncover what sets it apart from other regions.
“The Macarthur region offers many hidden treasures – from a unique and rich history, diverse shopping and dining options, to cultural and natural experiences – there truly is something for everyone.
“Macarthur Grapevine will help you piece together your perfect day or weekend exploring Macarthur and will leave you wanting more. It will inspire you to share your experiences with friends and family and make you proud to call Macarthur home.

The website is currently promoting the Campbelltown Steam and Machinery Museum, which helps preserve the history of Australia’s working past, and includes interactive displays of industrial, agricultural and steam machinery.
The museum is open during their biannual festivals, held in May and October each year.
The open weekends feature steam train rides, wagon rides, steam machinery, ploughing, vintage oil engines, vintage cars and military vehicles, food stalls and much more.
It is a must do for any vintage engine enthusiast, and is great for the whole family.
