Neoklis Bloukos believes that photography is the most popular method of memory archive.

“It is the most widely used visual communication method and modern art form on this planet,’’ says Bloukos, who has been passionate about photography for over 40 years, including 25 years of experience in press photography.

His knowledge, practice and working as a photographer encompass the full spectrum,  from black and white manual film processing and printing, infra red photography to digital photography and processing.

Bloukos believes in keeping up with the latest in digital expertise, from using an iphone to post eye catching images on social media such as Instagram to using a vast array of image processing apps.

…to this. Course tutor Neoklis Bloukos says black and white photography can still be as powerful as ever.

This experienced photographer will be the tutor at a Macarthur Community College course in intermediate/advanced photography called Seeing in Black and White, to be held on Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour on Saturday, April 16.

The cut off date for the course is March 29.

“This field trip is specially tailored for students who would like to learn the fundamentals of black and white photography,’’ says Bloukos.

“Black and white photography is still one of the most popular, dramatic and powerful forms of photography and is considered fine art photography.

“You will learn black and white photography practice; how to see and photograph in black and white.

“The course also includes information on advanced camera set up, filters, camera style and picture settings,’’ Bloukos said.
