The Perrottet Government says it’s investing $200 million to upgrade Elizabeth Drive at critical intersections as part of a $1 billion Western Sydney roads package funded from the WestInvest fund.
Liberal candidate for Leppington, Therese Fedeli, welcomed the major investment in Elizabeth Drive.
Ms Fedeli, who is pictured taking a break from door knocking in Eagle Vale earlier today, says the upgrades will deliver safety improvements on Elizabeth Drive at critical sections between Devonshire Road and Western Road, Kemps Creek.
“Leppington is one of Western Sydney’s fast growing area and this announcement will slash travel times and deliver safer roads for our community,” Ms Fedeli said.
“It will provide better access to the new Western Sydney Aerotropolis when complete, making it easier for the community to take advantage of the great jobs that will be on our doorstep.
“This funding clearly demonstrates the Perrottet Government’s commitment to providing this community with the infrastructure it needs to help boost business and increase productivity.
“This road upgrade has been made possible by the Perrottet Government’s WestInvest Fund, which is funding projects to enhance communities throughout Western Sydney.”
Treasurer Matt Kean said the $1 billion investment was made possible because of the Perrottet’s Government’s strong economic management.
“This investment will not only ensure people get to spend more time with family and friends instead of in traffic, but it will significantly improve the safety profile of these critical corridors,” Mr Kean said.
“The increased productivity which results from these road improvements will inject millions of dollars into the state’s economy which benefits every single person across NSW.”
