Macarthur FC have signed goal scoring machine Apostolos Stamatelopoulos for the upcoming 2026/27 A-League campaign.
The 27-year-old forward joins the Bulls with an impressive resume, having gained experience both in Australia and overseas with Motherwell FC and PAS Giannina (Greece).
Stamatelopoulos has also represented a number of A-Leagues clubs, including Adelaide United, Western United, Newcastle Jets and Sydney FC.
A proven goal scorer, Stamatelopoulos has found the back of the net more than 160 times throughout his career, while also providing 45 assists.
His performances have also earned him international recognition, with the forward making his Socceroos debut in 2024.
His goalscoring ability will add further firepower to the Bulls’ attack ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, while his experience at both domestic and international level will add to the squad’s football IQ.
Stamatelopoulos says he is looking forward to returning to the A-League, and hopes to use his experience to make a strong contribution to the squad, which is continuing to take shape under new head coach Sasa Ognenovski.
“I’m really excited to be here, meet all the boys and staff, and get straight into work. I’m looking forward to the season ahead and helping the team have a successful year,’’ he said.
“After speaking with the club and hearing about the direction they’re heading in, it felt like a really good fit for me.
“I’m excited by the opportunity and what the club wants to achieve this season. For me, it was about joining somewhere ambitious where I can contribute and enjoy my football.
“As a striker, obviously I want to score goals and create chances, but I also want to work hard for the team and bring a lot of energy up front.
“I’ll give everything every time I’m on the pitch, and hopefully I can score plenty of goals and give the fans some good moments this season.”
