Two fully funded scholarships for a national leadership program for women and girls are up for grabs, but time is running out to apply.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity to participate in Empowered to Lead, a six-week virtual leadership program delivered by Play Like a Girl Australia.
The program is designed to equip women and girls with practical leadership tools and skills that can be applied immediately across sport, work and everyday life, while providing an opportunity to connect with a national network of women in sport.
The program includes leadership development, guest speakers, weekly mentoring and much more.
The two scholarships are available via Camden Council.
Mayor of Camden Vince Ferreri says it’s a great opportunity for women and girls in the local sporting community to develop their leadership potential.
“We know our local sporting community is filled with talented, passionate and inspiring women and girls who have so much to contribute, both on and off the field and these scholarships are about giving local women and girls the confidence, skills and connections they need to step forward, take on leadership opportunities and have their voices heard,’’ he said.
“Whether you are an athlete, coach, volunteer, administrator, official or an emerging leader involved in our sporting community, I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and invest in yourself and your future.’’
Empowered to Lead program is open to women and girls aged 15 and above and will be delivered entirely online over six weeks, with participants able to choose from two streams to suit their schedule.
The Tuesday evening stream commences October 20, and the Thursday lunchtime stream on October 22.
