There’s no question this season’s Wests Tigers NRLW side is the best there’s ever been in their short history.
A new coach in Craig Sandercock and some savvy signings, including superstar halfback Raecene “Rae Gun’’ McGregor have turned the team’s fortunes around in 2026.
“We have won 6 of our first 8 games, including our last four in a row, and with three rounds remaining we have put ourselves in a strong position to secure a place in the NRLW Finals,’’ says head of women’s football at the Tigers Charmaine Steventon.
By comparison, they could not buy a win in previous seasons.
Now this very talented and exciting Wests Tigers NRLW side returns to Campbelltown Sports Stadium this Sunday, August 30, to tackle the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Round 9 of the premiership.
The Tigers are coming off the back of four straight victories for the first time in their history, and indeed look set to make some history of their own this season.
“We encourage supporters to come on down to Campbelltown Stadium this Sunday to cheer the likes of Kezie Apps, Raecene McGregor and local junior Losana Lutu as they go up against the Bulldogs,’’ Steventon said.
“This Sunday is another important step, and we would love to see as many Wests Tigers supporters there as possible.’’
The Wests Tigers finish the home and away season with three home games, starting this Sunday against the Bulldogs.
In Round 10, Wests Tigers will host the Gold Coast Titans on Sunday, September 6 at Campbelltown Sports Stadium with a 1.45pm kick off.
In Round 11, Wests Tigers will play out of Leichhardt Oval against Canberra Raiders on Friday, September 11 from 5.40pm.
Coach Craig Sandercock has selected his squad for the clash with the Bulldogs this Sunday at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
The side that triumphed over the Knights by one last week sees just two adjustments, with Shenai Lendill lining up at centre and Shaniece Monschau starting in the front row.
Centre Rikeya Horne has been named in the extended squad but at this stage is unlikely to play.
