Macarthur Bulls FC are on the hunt for a new A-League coach following the sudden departure of Mile Sterjovski.

The club has confirmed the “mutual termination’’ of Sterjovski’s contract ahead of the 2026-27 season.

“The club is hopeful of appointing a new head coach in the coming days and will make no further comment on the matter until such an appointment has been made,’’ it said in a media statement.

Sterjovski, pictured above hugging one of his players last season, has been part of the furniture at the Campbelltown club since its inception in 2020.

The former Socceroo was initially appointed head coach of the Bulls FC Academy men’s team.

During his time with the Academy he played a key role in developing a number of young players who would go on to make their mark in the A-League, including Oliver Jones and Jed Drew.

His work was instrumental in strengthening the Bulls FC Academy as a pathway to the A-Leagues, providing aspiring players with a clear pathway and an opportunity to progress into professional football.

Sterjovski was appointed head coach of the A-League men’s team during the 2022/23 season, where he continued to make a significant contribution to the club.

Under his guidance, the Bulls secured their second Australia Cup title in two years during the 2023/24 season, defeating Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park.

During his tenure, Mile led the A-League men’s side across 120 matches in all competitions, including campaigns in the AFC Cup and AFC Champions League Two, as well as the Isuzu UTE A-League and Australia Cup.

“Having been with the club since the beginning, Mile has made a lasting contribution to the culture and identity of Macarthur Bulls FC,’’ the club said in its media statement.

“His commitment to developing young players and strengthening the pathway from the Academy to the A-League will continue to influence the club for years to come.

“Macarthur Bulls FC would like to thank Mile for his hard work, dedication and contribution throughout his time at the club and wish him all the best for the next chapter of his career.’’
