Young people across Campbelltown will soon have more reason to head to Leumeah skate park and pump track with construction set to begin on upgrades.
As part of the Leumeah Youth Precinct project, the existing site will be expanded into a dynamic, youth-focused hub, featuring a new multipurpose court, parkour area, upgraded skate facilities and flexible spaces for community events.
Additional upgrades will also include public art, led by artists Sid Tapia and Ali Kadhim, as well as improved seating areas and shade.
This project is set to be completed early next year.
“The Leumeah Youth Precinct is a valued spot for the youth in our community to socialise, and this project builds on it to make it an even more exciting space for families and young people,” says Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Darcy Lound.
“This project will create a space where young people can be active and connect with each other, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to support the wellbeing of young community members,” Cr Lound said.
“This Youth Precinct will deliver fantastic outcomes for our community by providing a place to play, to socialise and be active.’’
The Leumeah Youth Precinct project is funded by the NSW Government through the Western Sydney infrastructure grants program to the tune of $1.3 million, in partnership with Campbelltown City Council.
“Beyond the physical, this project will support the wellbeing of young community members, and I commend Campbelltown City Council for their ongoing commitment in this space,’’ says State Member for Campbelltown Greg Warren on behalf of the government.
