Both the Campbelltown City Centre and Ingleburn Town Centre transformation projects have been given priority status in Campbelltown Council’s $96 million capital works program for the next 12 months
At a meeting on Tuesday night, Council gave the green light to a $342 million investment in local services, infrastructure and community programs through its 2026–2027 operational plan and 2025–26 to 2028-29 delivery program.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Darcy Lound said the budget included a number of transformative projects that would complement significant investment across the entire program.
“This is a plan for delivering on our commitments to the community. It balances the need to maintain the services community rely on every day while investing in projects that support our region’s future growth,’’ he said.
“The delivery of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program will see upgrades to the Railway Parade Bridge at Glenfield along with enhancements to our treasured natural locations through projects like the Simmos Beach Parklands and Dharawal Nature Playspace.
“Alongside these important projects, we’ll continue to deliver the much-loved services our community rely on, from libraries and community events to our leisure facilities and ongoing maintenance of sporting fields and recreation spaces.
“We are focused on turning plans into action, and this operational plan gives us and our community a clear picture of what we aim to achieve over the coming 12 months,” he said.
Highlights of the $95.8 million capital works program are bridges, footpaths and roads, $14.4 million, parks, public spaces and playgrounds, $10.5 million, community facilities and buildings, $62.6 million
