Detective Superintendent Brett Van Akker from South West Metropolitan Region said the 2026 Operation Trident surge was a success.
“Operation Trident is an intelligence-based operation that allows police to proactively disrupt high-risk offenders and prevent criminal behaviour,” Detective Superintendent Van Akker said.
“The message is clear. Any forms of criminal activities will not be tolerated anywhere in NSW, including the Sydney’s metropolitan region,’’ he said.
“Police will continue to target anyone who threatens the safety of the members of community and will bring them before the court.”
Operation Trident was first established In October 2025 to target a range of criminal behaviour and offenders across the Sydney metropolitan area.
