
Criminal Groups Squad detectives have charged three men over the public place shooting in Gregory Hills last year.
During the execution of a search warrant on Monday, a 40-year-old man was arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station, where he was charged with shooting with intent to murder.
A few minutes later strike force detectives with assistance of Raptor Squad executed a search warrant in Burwood.
A 32-year-old man was arrested during the search warrant and taken to Parramatta Police Station, where he was charged with shooting with intent to murder, and other offences.
Both men were refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court the same day. They were both formally refused bail to appear in the same court on May 28.
On Tuesday (March 31) strike force detectives arrested a 38-year-old man in Silverwater and charged him with shooting with intent to murder, and two other offences.
He was remanded in custody to face court on Wednesday.
The arrests relate to a public place shooting in December last year in Steer Road, Gregory Hills.
Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command were told two men allegedly armed with pistols had approached a 48-year-old man outside a gym and fired 12 rounds at him.
The man was uninjured and ran to safety, while the two alleged shooters left in a red Range Rover SUV.
A short time later, the SUV was located at Macquarie Grove Road, Cobbitty, where in nearby bushland police found clothing, masks, cloned number plates and two pistols.
Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command commenced an investigation, before it was handed over to State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad under Strike Force Foss.
