The running of the 2026 Miracle Mile at Club Menangle next month won’t be the only big entertainment attraction on the night.
Legendary Australian rock band The Angels have been confirmed as the headline musical entertainment on Saturday, March 14.
The Angels will perform some of their classic hits across two sets complementing the excitement on the track for this iconic harness racing event.
Formed in 1974 in Adelaide, The Angels are “a band that changed Australian music forever,” as quoted by Jimmy Barnes.
Inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1998, The Angels have released 14 studio albums, eight Top 10 albums, and 17 Top 40 singles with hits such as Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, Take A Long Line and Marseilles.
The band have toured with music royalty over their 50 plus years including AC/DC, Meat Loaf, David Bowie, Ike and Tina Turner, and Suzi Quatro.
Celebrating their 50th anniversary back in 2024 with some new faces, they are still going strong and were back on the road again in 2025 with the Go for Broke Tour.
“We’re pumped to be playing live on Miracle Mile night at Club Menangle,’’ says the band’s Rick Brewster.
“Head trackside for an unreal set which is sure to have everyone rocking before the big race,” he said.
The 2026 Carnival of Miracles, to be held across the first two Saturdays in March, is Australasia’s most prestigious harness racing event.
The carnival kicks off with Chariots of Fire on Saturday, March 7 and includes the $250,000 Chariots of Fire, Miracle Mile sprint qualifiers, and NSW Derby heats.
The final field for the Miracle Mile will be decided and the all-important barrier draw will be announced on the night.
Night Two (March 14) will feature the iconic and highly anticipated $1million Miracle Mile with Australasia’s best horses competing for the title of Australia’s fastest horse.
Off the track, racegoers will be treated to the delights of Aussie Night Markets including food trucks, carnival rides and speciality stores.
There’s also elegant racewear fashion on show as part of Fashions on the Field competition.
The all-night entertainment continues with resident trackside DJ Eluna, roving carnival entertainment, After Party, and culminating with The Angels performing their hits prior to the feature race.
Entry to both nights of the carnival is free, however pre-registration is recommended at clubmenangle.com.au
