Two men in black sought over gym shooting at Gregory Hills

Two males armed with firearms and dressed in black clothing and face coverings fired several times towards a man outside a gym in Gregory Hills this morning.

Incredibly, nobody inside or outside the gym on Steer Road, Gregory Hills was hurt.

Police were called to the scene around 8.35am, following reports that a public shooting had taken place.

They were told the man believed to be the target of the two shooters left the scene immediately afterwards.

Police officers from the Camden command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a separate incident, a 27 year old man has appeared in court this week over the sexual assault of a woman in a park on Leacocks Lane, Casula on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called following reports a woman was unconscious.

Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area command were told that a man had allegedly sexually assaulted a woman before leaving the scene.

The 18-year-old woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and was taken to Liverpool hospital in a critical condition.

Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 27-year-old man on Canberra Avenue, Casula.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with aggravated sexual assault. He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday.
