Hockey One League comes to Narellan Hockey Centre this Saturday when NSW Pride host Tassie Tigers in round two of the 2025 season.
The men’s game will start at 2.30pm, followed by the women at 4.14pm.
NSW Pride return home after a dominant round one win over Canberra Chill, making just one change with 2024 captain and Macarthur local Nathanael Stewart (pictured) back in the men’s squad.
He joins Blake Govers, Jack Hayes, Nathan Czinner, Dylan Martin and Ash Thomas in a formidable spine.
The men’s clash will test Tassie, who have never beaten NSW Pride away from home since the Hockey One League launched in 2019.
Their closest effort came in 2023, when they pushed the Pride to a shootout in Sydney before falling 5-4.
The Beltz brothers and Jack Welch will again lead the Tigers’ charge as they chase history.
Govers remains the headline act for NSW after scoring a ruthlessly efficient brace of set pieces last weekend and boasting one of the best scoring rates in world hockey.
In the women’s fixture, Tassie are forced into a reshuffle with Steph Kershaw sidelined.
Tokyo and Paris Olympian Renee Taylor steps in for her Tigers debut, a full circle moment after making her national league debut with Tasmania in 2014 before launching her Hockeyroos career and winning titles with Brisbane.
Taylor’s experience will be vital against a Pride midfield brimming with energy.
NSW will again look to emerging star Makayla Jones, rated among the brightest young talents in the country, whose pace and direct running will test Tassie’s outside defenders.
Abi Wilson and Grace Young add further spark, while Jane Claxton and international Kathryn Lane provide Tassie with steel and experience.
